Hello Friends! As we end 2011 and look to a new year of experiences, I am planning a study abroad trip to Vietnam. The first of many of my travels in the year 2012. I am going to share my travels with you through this blog which will contain journals, pictures and perhaps even a few videos.
I absolutely adore traveling and have been many places in the Continental U.S. and a few locations beyond but my wanderlust never ends when it comes to spinning my globe and picking a new spot to learn more about and visit. I am pretty adventurous when I travel and I love to experience new things.
I am especially excited to be flying to Southeast Asia, which is a location that wasn't necessarily on my bucket list prior to this year. I can't wait to try the food, meet the locals, learn some Vietnamese language, learn about Zen Buddhism, see first hand the war memorials, the rivers and valleys, the temples and ruins, the open air markets, and even the Turkish toilets which I am told can be quite a horrifying experience the first couple of times.
We will be flying in small local planes, taking vans, buses and boats during our stay. We will also be visiting a variety of different geographical areas of the country from urban to rural. I'm stoked about the temple visits where our delegation is going to be able to participate in an actual ceremony.
My itinerary in Vietnam spans from Hanoi, the capitol city in the North all the way down the country during my two week visit, ending in Ho Chi Minh City in the South.
Share my fun with me! Have you visited to Asia? Do you have travel tips or just cool things you'd like to share? Feel free to post to my blog anytime. I'm looking forward to sharing my serenity with you!
Sounds like you're going to have a total blast :)
